Business Development Manager
Government sector
We’re looking for someone who knows how the government or public sector works — maybe you’ve sold to councils, worked in them, or been in adjacent areas like consulting, engagement, or data. You understand how decisions get made, and you understand the impact of our work.
Now, you’re looking for something different:
- More autonomy and agility
- A closer link between your work and social impact
- A fresh environment where you can help build, shape and scale
Your role
You’ll be our first dedicated BDM, working directly with the founder to open new LGA relationships and grow our SaaS client base.
What you’ll do
- Identify and convert new local government opportunities
- Build long-term relationships with council decision-makers
- Lead meetings, proposals, and sales conversations
- Bring insights from the sector into our go-to-market approach
Keen to be part of something that matters and to help to shape the future of community engagement?
Here’s how to apply
- Get in touch with vic@placescore.org to request a full Position Description.
- Write a one page cover letter that tells us why you are perfect for this role.
- Send us your cover letter and CV via Seek.
All submissions will be considered as they are received, so be sure to get your application in as soon as possible to ensure you don’t miss out!
“I believe in the power of research to change people’s lives. This is exactly what Place Score is doing, and I love being part of it because it provides the opportunity for me to go between people, talk to them, help them to be heard and finally find a solution for the problems they are facing in their cities.”

Sogand Kamani, Sydney
“PlaceScore gives me an opportunity to directly interact with the people and residents of an area and comprehend their problems. From a quick chat to an interesting conversation about the locality you get to learn about the place and its story more each time you are there. All this being at a position where I am able to help make their voices reach out to the local councils which may otherwise not be reachable is what gives me immense pleasure.”

Teja Reddy, Melbourne
“As an Urban Planning student, I am grateful for Place Score in helping me develop my community engagement skills. Being able to meet people from all walks of life and to be a part of the creative Place Score team in bringing to life the places local communities enjoy has been fulfilling.”

Gideon Hytam, Sydney
